Almyrida

The village of Almirida (also spelled Almerida or Almyrida) is located at about 800 meters from the two beautiful villas. At Almirida village one can find anything he needs, as it is a tourist place full of nice restaurants along the beach, bars, super markets and other stores. It is a beautiful village built around a sandy, shallow and safe trick, which is the village’s beach, with a haven for small fishing vessels in the eastern edge.

Along the picturesque beach you will find, besides the above, cafeterias, bakeries, a jewellery shop, mini markets, gift shops and a car rental shop. At very close distance there is a water sports centre where you can rent kayaks, windsurfs and catamarans, adding a more exotic touch to your holiday.

Need for car only exists if one considers the distance to Almirida village to be large. On the other hand, if you want to explore the area and the other attractions of this historic island, a vehicle is mandatory and in short drive there is a huge variety of archaeological sites, museums and traditional villages with wonderful restaurants and quaint craft, which worth visiting, such as the glassblazery at the Red village, lace makers of Gavalohori village or silk makers at Kalamitsi village.

Stronger pace for those looking for something like that, can be found in the city of Chania, which is the nearest big city. The distance from Almirida to Chania is about 25 km and the city's airport is 30 km away, approximately half an hour by car.

If you select the second airport in Crete, in Heraklion, where may get cheaper prices on some flights, the transfer time is approximately one hour and a half.

Upon your arrival at the airport, if you wish, after communicating with the owners, there is the ability to have a taxi waiting to take you to the villa, or to take you there themselves. At the villa there will be a bag waiting for you, with some commodities you may need, such as juice, tea, coffee, fruit, as a welcome gift from the owners.
